What Is A Paternity DNA Test:

DNA paternity testing determines whether a man could be the biological father of a child. All of us are composed of 46 pair of chromosomes 23 of which come from the biological father, and 23 from the biological mother. Paternity testing compares a child’s DNA with that of the alleged father being tested.

The results of our paternity tests are very conclusive, and will produce either a statement of results indicating, “The Relationship Cannot Be Excluded” or “The Relationship Is Excluded”.  If the relationship cannot be excluded, then the results would indicate a better than 99.99% probability that the biological relationship exists, or if the relationship is excluded, then there will be a 0% chance of paternity.

The DNA Collection Process Is Very Easy:

Our simple do-it-yourself at home paternity test collects DNA samples by simply swabbing the inside of the cheeks with a special swab (like a large Q-Tip). This is easy, quick, and painless. The Home DNA Test Kit comes complete with easy to follow illustrated instructions, collection apparatuses for each person, and a consent form to be filled out with information about each family member providing a sample. The cheek swab test takes about 10-15 minutes for 2 people, with an additional 15-20 minutes for the swabs to dry. We also have a DNA collection kit for blood sampling method “pin prick”. If you have a special case, such as involving a deceased relative, we can also use whole blood and/or other tissue samples. When Should You Purchase a Legal Paternity Test?

If the reason for your paternity test is solely for curiosity, then our home non-legal paternity test is right for you.  If you think however, that the results may be required in a court of law, or that you may need the results to enforce child support or visitation, then you may want to consider getting a legal paternity test instead for a small additional cost.

The basic difference being that in a legal test, each person is clearly identified in the presence of a witness as part of the DNA collection process. Simply stated, in order for a paternity DNA test to be valid in a court of law, it must meet (2) basic criteria.

• 1st the test must be performed by an AABB accredited laboratory
• 2nd the test sample collection must be witnessed by a third party non-interested bystander (This is commonly referred to as "Chain Of Custody")
